Ophelia and Odyssey
The Ophelia series brings together paintings of figures suspended or floating within water, exploring states of vulnerability, displacement and uncertainty. Drawing on the familiar image of Ophelia, the works occupy a space between drowning and suspension — between surrender and the possibility of being carried somewhere else.
The figures appear detached from the world around them, their bodies becoming part of an uncertain landscape. Odyssey, with its four floating figures, extends this territory, suggesting not a single narrative but a shared condition of drifting, transition and the unknown.
Across the series, water becomes both a physical and psychological space: a place of loss, transformation and movement, where the boundary between being carried and being overwhelmed remains deliberately ambiguous.
